Hornby Recreation is a Committee of the Hornby Island Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association. Hornby Recreation’s mandate is to provide recreation programs for all members of the community and visitors all year round and to promote a healthy way of being in which physical activity is a valued and integrated way of everyday life.
Recreation 2020 During COVID-19
As a new threat, COVID-19 is still a largely unknown virus and, as such, measures and reactions will continue to be modified as research and our experience with it evolves. In response to information from British
Columbia’s Recreation and Parks Association, our summer programs will reflect
Provincial Health guidelines and directives regarding COVID-19. Physical distancing and the limiting of contacts will be a priority. For this reason, all summer programs will be held outdoors. In order to keep social circles small, registration will be limited to the children of full time Hornby residents. Thank you for your understanding.
We usually offer programs throughout the year such as:
- full moon walks
- biking events
- dance workshops
- tae kwondo
- tennis lessons for the school kids
- adult exercise classes
- fitness room orientations
- Terry Fox run/walk
- treasure hunts
- beach day/sandcastle competition
- and more!
In the summer we run events for both adults and children.
Visit our web-site for full summer program details and on-line registration: www.hornbyrecreation.ca
We also have an e-mail list and if you would like to stay current with all events happening please e-mail us at email@example.com Contact us if you have any ideas for future recreation programs. We welcome new creative adventures in fun and fitness!
