Water Stewardship

Water Stewardship started as a project of Heron Rocks Friendship Centre Society and became a Committee of the Hornby Island Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association in December 2023.

The dedicated volunteers and part-time staff work on water-related projects with a clear objective: “strive to ensure the quantity and quality of water for Hornby Island, both in the short and long-term.”

Water Testing Now On Hornby

Monthly water testing for bacterial contamination (for information only) is now available on-island as part of a one-year pilot project. Specific dates and instructions are included in Tribune inserts, and on Facebook, as they’re finalized.
